Every year, the Region of Madrid turns the celebration of World Book Day into 'La Noche de los Libros' (The Night of the Books), which this year celebrates its 18th edition.

The Night of the Books will be held during the night of Friday, April 21, when the streets of the capital will become a meeting place for both professionals in the book sector and for readers and culture lovers.

This edition will have as its thematic axis Góngora's verse "Los ojos con mucha noche" (Eyes with a lot of night). Thus, the night party of books will explore the nocturnal imaginary through literary characters: lovers and lovers, sleepers and insomniacs, dreamers, lonely walkers, criminals, etc..

This nocturnal event features numerous free activities related to books and reading, both in the center of Madrid and in many municipalities of the region, as well as in hybrid format: face-to-face and virtual.

Last year's program included more than 387 activities and this year is expected to offer nearly half a thousand activities for all audiences: debates, conferences, round tables and dialogues between authors, musical performances, contests, theater, literary routes and children's activities, among others.
