From 22th to 26th March 2023, IFEMA will host the twelfth edition of Madrid es Ciencia (Madrid is Science) fair, whose theme this year is "Building a sustainable future".
The event, held as part of Education Week, is jointly organised by IFEMA MADRID and the madri+d Knowledge Foundation (Fundación para el Conocimiento) and has the support and backing of the Regional Government of Madrid, through its Vice-Presidency, Department of Education and Universities.
‘Madrid es Ciencia' is the largest meeting in Spain dedicated to the world of education and is committed to promoting and bringing scientific culture closer to citizens, to encourage scientific vocations by eliminating gender barriers and to showcase the capabilities of the Region of Madrid for the construction of a sustainable future. It also seeks to stimulate the interest and curiosity of young people in Science and show how research influences economic development and the well-being of society.
The fair aims to become an interactive and participative experience for visitors through a perfect symbiosis between students, scientific institutions, educational and research centres and companies, which represent the value chain of talent in our region in terms of Science, Technology and Innovation. Furthermore, the main distinctive feature of the Fair is that the students themselves will be the protagonists, acting as scientists and explaining Science to visitors, with the aim of consolidating cooperative work, creativity, entrepreneurship, the critical use of information and alternative learning methods among students in Madrid.
