MADRID IN THREE DAYS
Do you know Madrid? If so, remember your moments and feel them again. If it is your first time, immerse yourself in new and unforgettable experiences.
No matter what your team's colors are! If you are a soccer fan and you come to Madrid you can't miss the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium Tour and the visit to the Real Madrid trophy room or the Wanda Metropolitano Tour around the nooks and crannies of an impressive stadium.
Head along the Paseo de la Castellana to Colón. Stroll through the Plaza del Descubrimiento, discover Serrano Street, one of the most exclusive streets in the capital, or visit the National Archaeological Museum, which has a reproduction of the Altamira Caves.
It's time to have lunch in one of the many restaurants and taverns in the neighborhood to regain strength and continue our route.
The afternoon is dedicated to shopping in the Salamanca district. In just 1km², we will find the Golden Mile: the mecca of luxury, fashion and glamour in Madrid. The top national and international fashion brands will help you fill your closet with the latest trends and find the right clothes to stand out at night in Madrid.
Tapas in the neighborhood! Discover the potato omelette skewers, taste the creamy croquettes, enjoy a portion of Iberian ham and wash it all down with a cool beer or a good wine. We are ready for the Madrid night. Head to the area of Alonso Martínez, Malasaña or Chueca. Then extend the night in the capital's nightclubs that are open until the wee hours of the morning.
Culture is the protagonist of the morning. We visit the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum with almost a thousand works of great artists from the thirteenth to the twentieth century. The rest of the morning is spent photographing the Cibeles Fountain, walking the streets of downtown and Gran Vía in search of souvenirs, strolling along Alcalá Street, immortalizing the Bear and the Strawberry Tree in the Puerta del Sol, eating a calamari sandwich in the Plaza Mayor and having tapas in the San Miguel Market.
After an exquisite meal in one of the many restaurants serving homemade food in Madrid de los Austrias, we relax with a coffee in the Plaza de Oriente. Afterwards, the majesty of the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral, the coolness of the Sabatini Gardens and the tranquility of a sunset at the Temple of Debod mark this afternoon that closes in the best possible way: Let yourself go in one of the musicals that hosts the Gran Vía, the 'Broadway' of Madrid.
Located just over 30km from the capital, is Alcalá de Henares, destination of our last day in the Community of Madrid. You should not miss visiting its University, but also its Main Street, its walls, the Cervantes' Birthplace museum or contemplate the flight of its storks. A whole morning, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, to experience the birthplace of Cervantes.
Have lunch in the center of the city or taste the local cuisine at the Parador Hostería del Estudiante, located in a former convent-school from the 17th century.
Back in the capital, we take a break in the Retiro Park. A few photos at the lake or at the Crystal Palace are a must. Did you know that there is a statue dedicated to the devil in this park? Discover it. It is the only one in the world dedicated to the prince of darkness.
And what better plan than to spend the last hours in the city among stores? You can do it in the various shopping areas of the capital or visit one of the shopping centers and outlets that are just a few kilometers from Madrid: the Plaza Norte center, Xanadu or Las Rozas Village are some of the options.
