FAMILY PLANS
In the Community of Madrid we have a wide variety of activities to enjoy with the family. Unique experiences that are not found in other Spanish regions. Do you want to know the best places to visit with your family? Keep on reading.
You can have a great time at Warner Park, Parque de Atracciones de Madrid or Aquopolis, three themed parks for the whole family, the last of them being aquatic. You will also love the views from the Madrid Cable Car and from the viewpoint at the top of the Moncloa Lighthouse.
Nature and animal lovers will be delighted with Faunia, the ecosystem zoo, and the Zoo Aquarium of Madrid, the most important zoo in the region, located in Casa de Campo. You can also visit Atlantis Aquarium, the most modern aquarium in Europe located in Arroyomolinos and Safari Madrid, where you will be impressed by the exotic species.
In addition, children will experience an incredible time in NaturOcio Park in Guadarrama, the largest leisure and multi-adventure park in nature. Don't miss Micropolix, a mini-city for children between 4 and 14 years old, where they will discover what it's like to be an adult for a day. The little ones can't miss out on the Little House Museum of the tooth fairy (“Ratón Pérez” in Spanish) which recreates the home of the famous children's character.
If you are looking to learn new and entertaining things with your family, you will find fascinating museums such as the Museum of Natural Sciences, which houses everything from dinosaurs to the first writings of Darwin; the Planetarium, in the Enrique Tierno Galván Park; the Naval Museum, which presents the history of national shipping, or the Railway Museum, which, in the same way, narrates the development of the train in Spain.
The Robot Museum, which tells the story of the development of robotics in an interactive way; the Museum of Illusions, where you will be challenged with tricks and optical illusions, and the Sweet Space Museum, a real museum of candies that offers an immersive experience through taste - they also have an important didactic function.
The Aeronautics and Astronautics Museum, located at the Cuatro Vientos air base, will delight aerial engine enthusiasts. Another well-known museum is the Wax Museum, whose recreations will leave no one indifferent.
In San Martín de Valdeiglesias you can visit El Bosque Encantado, which houses a botanical garden and a plant sculpture park. And in the Sierra de Madrid, the Castle of Manzanares El Real offers dramatized visits set in the Middle Ages.
And to enjoy with the little ones, there is a whole range of musicals not to be missed. The whole family will enjoy "The Lion King", the major musical phenomenon that returns to Madrid in 2021. "Snow White", "Peter Pan: the musical" and "Aladdin: the musical" are three other well-known shows for the whole family that promise an evening full of illusion, light and color.
Grimm brothers classic "Little Red Riding Hood" also has its own musical version in Madrid. "The Fantastic Nanny" is a musical tribute to Mary Poppins, while "Queenmania" is a family stage adaptation of the best-known songs by the music band Queen.
"Aladdin and the Lamp" is another unforgettable event for all audiences, based on the stories of "The Thousand and One Nights". And "Hansel and Gretel", an adaptation of the original tale by the Grimm brothers. Another highly recommended option to take 3-year-olds and older is "Emocionario", the musical by the Dubbi Kids, where their well-known songs will be performed.
For adventurous families, Madrid has snow and wave activities at Madrid Xanadu. Shamba Climbing Madrid has the largest climbing wall in Spain for climbing enthusiasts, and Aventura Amazonia, in the Sierra de Guadarrama, has the largest zip line and tree climbing park in Europe.
Sporty families will especially enjoy the visit to the Museum of the Spanish National Soccer Team in Las Rozas and the tours to the Santiago Bernabeu and Wanda Metropolitano stadiums and museums, the official headquarters of the Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid soccer clubs.
An endless number of activities offered by the region of Madrid for all tastes, don't miss the opportunity to enjoy and get to know these places during your trip!
