 PRÁDENA DEL RINCÓN

Amongst transhumant paths and watercourses, Prádena offers stunning natural landscapes where you can enjoy activities in contact with nature: hiking, photography, cycling routes...

Nestled in the Sierra del Rincón mountain range, among transhumant paths and watercourses, is one of the villages that form part of the Biosphere Reserve, a unique spot very close to Madrid. We recommend that you book a visit, go to www.sierradelrincon.org to make sure you don't miss it.

Prádena offers important natural samples with undergrowth and riverside vegetation, holm oak groves, melojares, beech groves, pine forests and piornales, along with an impressive variety of fauna that are the delight of nature lovers. One of the areas we recommend you visit is the Salmoral Lagoon, which includes a bird and amphibian observatory, an arboretum and an open-air geological museum.

If you take a stroll around the village, stop for a moment at the Church of Santo Domingo de Silos, one of the oldest in the area (dating from the 12th century) and which has been recognised as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) since 2021. On another note, for example, the horseshoeing colt, ancient and genuine, gives an idea of the importance of livestock in this municipality.

Prádena del Rincón has four footpaths that form part of the Madrid Footpaths, which are accessible to the majority of the public, now is the time to choose one. Hiking, photography, environmental education, bicycle routes, gastronomy... Come and enjoy!
