Cervera de Buitrago

CERVERA DE BUITRAGO

Surrounded by rivers and reservoirs, which makes it an ideal place for outdoor activities such as water sports, hiking or cycling routes.

Stone, granite, slate, wood, curved tiles and clay are traditional construction elements, among which the horseshoe colt, typical of this area of the Sierra de Madrid, is preserved. The main example of artistic heritage is the Church of Santa María de los Remedios from the XVI century.

Cervera de Buitrago participates in the Open Museum of the Commonwealth of El Atazar with the Museum of the Senses. Located in a newly constructed building, it has a sensory circuit (tunnel of the senses) that takes the visitor to experience a journey through nature through the senses: smell, touch, hearing and sight. The visitor travels through the different areas representative of each sense, receiving stimuli and information through the interactive elements present in the Museum. The building aims to be a reference in the region of Madrid for people with sensory disabilities.
