ALCOBENDAS

It is one of the most populated towns in the region of Madrid and it is 17 km north of the capital. It is close to San Sebastian de los Reyes, another town with which it shares borders.

Its Renaissance church of San Pedro Apóstol is its most interesting monument, together with that of San Pedro Mártir, built in the 1950s and considered one of the best works of sacred art of contemporary Spanish architecture. Although it is not necessary to leave aside the hermitage of Nuestra Señora de la Paz, from the XII century.

Part of the municipality of Alcobendas is within one of the protected areas of the community, the Regional Park of the Upper Basin of the Manzanares, created in 1985.
