A combination of classical music, zarzuela, dance and flamenco come together in the Festival de San Lorenzo 2024, from the 1st to the 31st of August.
San Lorenzo de El Escorial is the perfect setting for this festival, which brings together a diverse cultural offering and attracts both locals and international visitors.
The dance and flamenco performances will feature outstanding artists of the genre, who will bring passion and duende to the stages of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Classical music, a mainstay of the festival, will offer unforgettable productions performed by internationally renowned singers.
The most outstanding concerts will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the premiere of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and the birth of María de la O Lejárraga, with the performance of El amor brujo and El Corregidor y la Molinera, works written by María de la O Lejárraga together with Manuel de Falla. There will also be a recital dedicated to the great pianist Alicia de Larrocha.
Among the novelties of this year's festival is an extension day at the Teatro de La Antigua Mina, in Puerto de la Cruz Verde, in Zarzalejo, from where the participants will be able to enjoy the starry sky and the Perseids while enjoying the music.
