21st edition of the International Documentary Film Festival

Documenta Madrid returns with its 21st edition, from 28 May to 2 June, to recognise innovation and quality in documentary creation.

The International Documentary Film Festival is committed to an open and plural perspective of the documentary genre and promotes new models and authors. It also offers a global perspective on conflicts and dreams, with a human approach that involves the viewer, which has consolidated it as an essential event in Madrid's culture.

This edition presents three competitive sections: International Competition, National Competition and Final Cut. In each of them, an expert jury evaluates the different proposals and selects the winners, as well as awarding special mentions.

The program will be complemented by retrospectives and parallel activities, such as the master class of Morgan Quaintance, "The filmmaker through the cameras"; the workshop of documentation and discovery of Juan Cavestany and Paco Graco, "What remains"; or the workshop dedicated to the immersion of the youngest participants in documentary work with Edu Cardoso, "Little documentary makers: learning the interview technique", among others.

Take a unique cinematic journey that celebrates the diversity and innovation of the documentary genre and immerse yourself in Madrid's vibrant culture at the 21st edition of the International Documentary Film Festival.
