The Region of Madrid, following the recent declaration of flamenco as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), presents the first edition of the Guitar Festival from 30th of April to 4th of May.
This event promises to be an unforgettable encounter, with the participation of outstanding and emblematic flamenco artists such as Rafael Riqueni, Gerardo Núñez, Alfredo Lagos and the young Alejandro Hurtado. Together, these virtuosos will offer an unforgettable show in the prestigious Teatros del Canal, transformed into the epicentre of passion and the art of flamenco.
The main activities of the festival are the four galas that will be held from the 1st to the 4th of May in the Sala Verde of the Teatro del Canal. At these events, artists such as Juan José Amador, Manuela Carrasco, Jesús Méndez, Carmen Cortés, Rocío Luna, Patricia Guerrero, David Lagos and Andrés Marín will share their art with the Madrid public and visitors to the city.
In addition, the Sala Negra of the Teatro del Canal will host round tables, masterclasses and guitar concerts. The first round table, "RAMÓN MONTOYA and the flamenco concert guitar", moderated by Pedro Calvo, will be followed by Agustín Carbonell's extraordinary "Bola" guitar concert. The following days will also offer moments of reflection and enjoyment, with conferences on the evolution of the flamenco guitar and performances that explore its many artistic facets.
With each performance, the Guitar Festival promises to pay tribute to the richness and diversity of flamenco, consolidating Madrid as a must-see destination for lovers of Spanish music and culture.
