From 13th April to 14th May, the theatre of the Centro Cultural de la Villa Fernán Gómez will host the play 'Mañanas de abril y mayo', a comedy by Calderón de la Barca.

This play is a comedy in verse full of joy and vitality, full of entanglements and confusions, where a green and flowery, bucolic and sensual Madrid is recreated, where young couples in love get confused, avoid each other, deceive each other, surprise each other, look for each other, and sometimes even find each other. 

This new version by Carolina África, directed by the theatre's current artistic director, Laila Ripoll, perfectly portrays human relationships, especially when it comes to love. Moreover, the action has been set in a 1950s aesthetic and a festive tone, allowing the audience to enjoy the characters to the full, who could be contemporary.

'Mañanas de abril y mayo' returns to the stage after more than twenty years, when it was first performed by Margarita Xirgu and staged by the tandem formed by Narros and D'Odorico.
