Museo Picasso

Located in Buitrago de Lozoya, the Picasso Museum houses a unique collection based on the friendship between two Spanish exiles. 26 years of friendship -the artist Pablo Ruiz Picasso and his barber Eugenio Arias. After a long exile of Picasso's barber, the collection was donated by Eugenio Arias to the Diputación de Madrid in 1982.

Picasso's idea was to build a thematic museum in his own country. The museum, installed on the site of the Town Hall of Buitrago del Lozoya, was the first museum created and inaugurated in the Community of Madrid on March 5, 1985.
