TIELMES

Enjoy the many active tourism activities that Tielmes offers to its visitors: hiking, fishing, horseback riding... Or stroll along a nature trail among poplars and tarays without losing sight of the Tajuña River.

Within the artistic heritage of Tielmes, the Parish Church of Saints Justo and Pastor stands out. It was built between 1637 and 1787 and has a Renaissance-Baroque style. Another example of religious architecture is the Ermita de los Santos Niños, erected with plastered and whitewashed masonry -in the 18th century- in the vicinity of Risco de los Mártires. According to tradition, the Justo and Pastor children who were fleeing from the Romans hid here before being executed for renouncing their faith.

Within the civil architecture is the Bridge over the Tajuña River -from the 17th century-, made of stone and whose most characteristic element is the angle-shaped elevation built over its eye. It is also advisable to stroll through the streets of Tielmes to observe the fountains and the wash house as well as two mills located in the vicinity of the town center.
