VALDEMORO

Strolling through the old town you can get to know the historical and artistic heritage of this town, whose beautiful Plaza de la Constitución is worth the trip.

The artistic heritage of Valdemoro presents important samples such as the Parish Church of Asunción de Nuestra Señora. Its interior offers interesting 17th century altarpieces, Flemish frescoes and other objects of great value. The temple has been declared a Historic-Artistic Monument since 1981.

Within the religious architecture is also the Convent of Santa Clara and the Hermitage of the Santísimo Cristo de la Salud. The Convent is from the 17th century and its church is the most outstanding element. Inside, the main altarpiece stands out, with paintings from the 17th century. In the Hermitage, from the XVIII century, the central nave -covered with barrel vault and lunettes- and six lateral chapels stand out. Inside, the altarpiece in the main chapel is of great value.

Strolling through the old town of Valdemoro is a magnificent way to observe other heritage samples that reflect the municipal tradition. The Plaza de la Constitución -built between the 16th and 17th centuries- is an example of Castilian architecture with arcades and balconies. Another element of the town is the Fuente de la Villa, built in 1605.
