The Region of Madrid celebrates Hispanity Day with a special program between October 4 and 12, read on!
Under the slogan "All accents fit in Madrid", more than 100 activities spread over the different days will bring together a total of 1,500 participating artists from a wide range of disciplines. Theater, dance, music, gastronomy or folklore will adorn the streets and spaces of the capital, in addition to having an extension in the city of Barcelona.
Among the programmed activities there is a clear family spirit and shows for all tastes, such as recitals, street entertainment, music concerts and performing arts or cutting-edge exhibitions. In this edition of the celebration of Hispanidad there will be a special dedication to Mexico and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla will be the special guests.
Scheduled activities include a proclamation by Jorge Volpi, from the Casa Museo Lope de Vega on the 4th; a dramatized reading by Belén Rueda, on the 6th at the Casa de México or the play "Jacuzzi", on the 7th at the Teatros del Canal.
The surroundings of Plaza de España will have the tourist and gastronomic space La Hispanoamericana, also with handicraft articles. In addition, several exhibitions located in Madrid will be part of the program of this celebration, thus completing a rich cultural offer. Some of these exhibitions are "Frida Kahlo. Wings to fly", at the Casa de México, "From the Caribbean to the English Channel. The Spanish Navy in the American Independence", at the Naval Museum, or "What we let pass", at the Cultural Institute of Mexico.
Some iconic corners of the city of Madrid will become stages for the occasion, such as the Puerta de Alcalá with the concert of Camilo, on October 9, or the Plaza Mayor, with the performance of Telefunka.
