5 grandes razones para visitar Madrid este verano

If you are thinking of visiting the region of Madrid this summer and you are short of excuses, keep reading! We propose you a list with the best plans that the region offers you during the hot months.

Summer evenings are for the terraces, to take advantage of the lower temperatures and socialize to end the day. What distinguishes many terraces in Madrid is their location. Try the terraces of the Ginkgo Sky Bar, the Hotel Urban or the Círculo de Bellas Artes. From different parts of the city, the Madrid skyline at sunset will amaze you.

If the travel format is family, Madrid offers countless options to spend the day with the family. The region's theme parks, such as Parque Warner, Parque de Atracciones or Faunia Zoo, are always the most exciting for children, but many other adventures will delight the little ones, such as Micropolix, the city of children, or Aventura Amazonia, a concept of leisure fully inserted in nature.

The capital offers many plans, but not all of them. The Villas of Madrid are that set of eleven peculiar localities scattered throughout our region that deserve a dedicated visit, each one. In summer, places like Rascafría promise to soften the temperature a little. San Lorenzo de El Escorial always receives thousands of visitors in its heritage, and the wall of Buitrago del Lozoya, also a northern town, is a splendid excuse to peek into the past of our region.

If you are looking for water and bathing areas, the famous reservoir of San Juan receives thousands of locals and visitors every year. Near San Martín de Valdeiglesias, the water quality of this river beach is one of the best in the area. Another option is Aquópolis, the water park with attractions for children and all ages, where you can soak in the water and enjoy a day at the pool with your family.

Finally, Madrid and its towns offer a unique environment to enjoy up to five enclaves considered World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Aranjuez, Alcalá de Henares, San Lorenzo de El Escorial and the city of Madrid are home to heritage treasures that can also be enjoyed outdoors. The Montejo beech forest, the fifth heritage jewel of the region, is in itself a privileged enclave in the natural environment of the mountains of Madrid.
