Roofs in Madrid

In the middle of spring, it's terrace season. The days with so much light and the arrival of good weather inaugurate a new season. Do you know the most peculiar terraces and penthouses in Madrid?

Ranging from a panoramic terrace on the heights to a charming narrow courtyard in the heart of a historic district, terraces and outdoor spaces are proliferating this season and in the run-up to summer.

To start off strong, the terrace of the Ginkgo Sky Bar offers privileged views from its location in Plaza de España. From the top you can see a skyline of the city where you can quickly make out the nearby Royal Palace or the green of Casa de Campo. An exotic-inspired cocktail bar awaits you behind the bar. For its part, the rooftop terrace of the Four Seasons Hotel reopens for the season, maintaining its usual offer of the Dani restaurant's own cuisine.

For a more business-oriented, after-work atmosphere, the Azca district has Planta Z, a terrace in the heart of the financial district, at the top of the Canopy by Hilton hotel. Street food, tapas and live shows entertain the public here. If you are a guest of the hotel, you can enjoy an exclusive swimming pool with views of the city skyline.

More intimate and cosy are terraces such as The Hat Madrid, located at the top of the hostel of the same name, in the traditional neighbourhood of La Latina. Here the locals gather in a charming atmosphere of closeness and relaxation. Another example is the patio of La Tita Rivera, hidden among the buildings in the Chueca neighbourhood, which offers a leafy atmosphere, isolated from the hustle and bustle of the streets of the centre.

Not to be forgotten are the must-visits, such as the terrace of the Hotel Urban, with exclusive views of the centre of Madrid, or Ático 11, on the top of the Hotel Las Letras Gran Vía, in the heart of Madrid's main street. Other examples are the rooftop terrace of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, at the top of its emblematic tower, under the statue of Athena, which you can access via a glass lift.

The offer in Madrid is almost inexhaustible: the Jardines de Sabatini, the Terraza de Poniente, the terrace of the hotel The Principal Madrid, with solarium and relaxing sounds of water, visit them and discover your favourite!
