Chinchón, candidate for Rural Tourism Capital of 2022

Chinchón, one of the most charming towns in Madrid with the highest number of visitors, is running for the title of Rural Tourism Capital of 2022. Take part and vote for the town!

More than 200 towns from all over Spain have participated in the competition for the Capital of Rural Tourism for 2022. After a first process, ten municipalities have applied as finalists, among which is Chinchón. Its monumental square, its gastronomy and its heritage legacy have made it a reference since the 60s and now, Chinchón can win this great award.

Since 1974, the old quarter of Chinchón has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site. The town's relationship with the cinema is well known; numerous scenes for film and television have been shot there. The church of Ntra. Señora de la Asunción, which houses a large canvas by Goya, the Lope de Vega theatre and the Torre del Reloj (Clock Tower) are some of the town's points of interest. The famous Plaza Mayor crowns a very peculiar place that, without a doubt, leaves no one indifferent.

In previous editions, towns such as Olvera, Potes or Santillana del Mar have won this distinction for the best rural tourism. If Chinchón wins it, it will be one of the most distinguished award-winning villages in the country.

Participate now! Until 10 May, vote for Chinchón to win this distinction awarded by EscapadaRural, the largest platform for rural tourism in Spain.
