Next Sunday, April 3, the Movistar Half Marathon returns, the great sporting event in which thousands of participants run through the streets of Madrid. Live in the capital a real athletic and festive day, read on!
More than 21 kilometers throughout the city will welcome the large flow of runners participating in this day. The competition welcomed more than 17,000 runners on its twentieth anniversary, making it a reference in the city.
The day, in addition to being competitive, supportive and festive, is an emblematic route through the city. The start will be from the Paseo de la Castellana and the route crosses iconic areas such as Puerta de Alcalá, Atocha station, Paseo del Prado, the fountains of Neptuno or Cibeles or the Plaza de Castilla. Neighbors and visitors will come to the course to cheer on the competitors and enjoy a unique sight through the streets of the city.
The route has been provided with four refreshment stations and the race will be held in four batches, so that all runners can start the race from the same starting point. The race has been included in the calendar of the International Association of Marathons and Road Races (AIMS) in the Road Race Label category.
Parallel to this race, the organization has planned several activities to complement this great sports weekend. On Saturday will be held the Carreras Infantiles Profuturo, an initiative to involve the youngest, who will be able to run like the great professionals. The races will start at 5:00 p.m., where the little ones will also wear race bibs and receive a commemorative medal for their participation.
Also, to liven up the days, the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon Exhibition has been set up at the Gallur Municipal Sports Center.
Do not miss any detail, check all the information and participate in this sporting weekend in the streets of Madrid.
