Madrid Science and Innovation Week kicks off, the great annual event of scientific dissemination in which many institutions organize more than 1000 activities to bring science, technology and innovation to the public.
The event celebrates its 21st edition in which, under the slogan "A science for the great challenges of humanity", up to 150 institutions offer a great program of free activities for all audiences. The Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d has organized this great program for many municipalities in our region, read on!
In the capital you can attend, among others, the round table "Feed your brain", on the 3rd at the Institute of Food Science and Technology and Nutrition, where they will talk about foods that enhance intellectual performance. The Faculty of Biology of the Complutense University organizes on the 12th the workshop "Learn how cells communicate", and the National Archaeological Museum, on the 5th, invites you to an open day at its library under the title "Science and research in the library of the MAN: specialized collections XVI-XIX centuries".
The offer is virtually endless. The University of Alcalá de Henares offers a workshop on the 2nd and 4th to learn how to read hieroglyphics; in Aranjuez, on the 8th and 9th you can go on a dramatized guided tour of the Jardín de la Isla, named "The enigmas of Aranjuez", and in El Escorial, on the 4th you can take a guided tour of the IMIDRA forest nursery and learn about its ecological conservation.
Among the activities there are face-to-face and online events, such as conferences and webinars. One example is "Recovering our memory", which proposes a workshop and a guided visit to the Digital Library of Memory of Madrid.
You can even go on field trips, such as the one organized by the La Pedriza Visitor Center, entitled "Towards a sustainable future in the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park", a walk in which the functioning of our ecosystems will be explained.
