The Olivar Nights are back for classical music lovers in a unique environment. The Olivar de Castillejo Foundation opens its doors again this year so that concerts can be held outdoors in the garden full of centenary olive trees.
This natural spot is full of culture and history. In the early 20th century José Castillejo and his wife Irene Claremont made this olive grove a meeting place for great intellectuals and scientists. Figures of the so-called "Silver Age" of Spanish culture such as Ortega y Gasset, Ramón y Cajal or Miguel de Unamuno were usuals at this place.
From Tuesday to Saturday, until September 18, concerts will begin at 8:00 pm, but the doors will open to the public from 7:15 pm on Menendez Pidal Street, 3 bis in Madrid. Get ready to listen to classic music pieces by your favorite classics such as Chopin, Tchaikovsky or Chabrier.
On Tuesday, August 3 you can catch the group Orpheus Musicus, whose main repertoire is built up on rare seventeenth and eighteenth century music. On Wednesday, August 4 attend Mario Mora on piano and Blanca Fernández on violin and on Thursday, August 5 Andrés Navarro will play solo on piano. Spend Friday, August 6 with Elina Sitnikava and Roman Kholmatov, and attend the duo of Vladim Gladkov on piano and Rubén Mendoza on violin on Sunday 7 August.
Tuesday, August 10 is Carlos Marín Rayo’s day, an international piano performer. Piano duo Molina & Uchi will play on Wednesday 11. The following day, María Luisa Gutiérrez on cello and Carlos Santos on piano will be in charge of livening up the evening.
Two extra unique collaborations are Andreu Soler’s on marimba and Miguel Ángel Cuadrado’s on piano on Friday 13.
On Saturday 14 and Tuesday 17 discover the Trio Mosaico, formed by a violinist, a pianist and a cellist awarded in the Young Artists of Castilla y León Program in 2018. Thursday 19 and Friday 20, attend Trio Rodin’s performance, also formed by a violinist, a pianist and a cellist. And on Saturday 21, don’t miss out Otero Duo. These artists and many more will hold relaxing and inspiring classic music evenings
