Culture in summer: five free exhibitions

This summer the cultural offer in Madrid is priceless. Four photographic exhibitions and an exhibition with the most daring framing and aesthetics will be responsible for surprising residents and visitors from all corners of the Madrid region this summer.

''Rincones de Palacio'' is the exhibition that houses the Palace of Infante D. Luis in Boadilla del Monte outdoors in the new space ''La Pérgola'', in the gardens of the palace. Thanks to the Friends of the Palace Association, we can see the work of 10 photographers from Boadilla in 70 snapshots.

The photographs of the exhibition are the different views of this neoclassical palace of the eighteenth century and can be visited free of charge during the opening hours of the gardens, every day of the week from 11:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 22:00, except Wednesdays, which will open at 18:00.

''On the road'' is the exhibition for lovers of road movies, Formula 1 or vintage cars of the 80s and 90s. The exhibition brings together works from the collection of the Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo and fifteen other artists such as Pilar Albarracín, El Roto, Alberto García-Alix or Andrew Bush.

The temporary exhibition of the Itiner Network will rotate in the different art spaces, cultural centers and libraries of several municipalities in the region and can be visited free of charge until December 27. You can check the dates here.

For lovers of history and geography, the Museum of America in Madrid presents an exhibition that you can visit online at the click of a button. The First Around the World Google Arts & Culture, is a journey through the navigation of Magellan-Elcano. It shows the itinerary followed by Antonio Pigaffetta to explore the area of the Strait of Magellan and the consequences of the trip.

In the exhibition "Magellan's voyages and the vision of the other", the pieces you can find are drawings, paintings and decorative arts from the museum's collections of the places visited by the explorers in the 16th century, their encounter with unknown cultures and "the others" in the first voyage around the world.

Young Urban Photographers, a virtual exhibition that can be visited on the website of the National Museum of Anthropology (MNA ) Organized by the International Center for Photography and Film, shows the work of five female photographers, five projects that portray the new post-confinement normality.

The images show ordinary people in their daily lives who survive and raise their heads one more day without giving up, a breath of hope for all those who enter this exhibition.

I Muestra de Fotografía con el móvil is one of the most collaborative and democratic exhibitions of the year. In Collado Villalba, the exhibition gathers photographs of more than 60 neighbors and visitors of the place, which try to reflect the surroundings and the natural beauty of the enclave and Collado.

Organized by the City Council, in the exhibition you will see breathtaking sunsets, white meadows as a result of the snow, or the night illuminated by the street lamps of the emblematic streets of the town. You can also access all this thanks to an online gallery here.

Different, impressive and affordable art is what Madrid has to offer you now. What are you waiting for?
