This spring returns the Strawberry Train, the vintage train replica of the one inaugurated in 1851 that makes a journey through time linking two destinations, Madrid and Aranjuez. And this year is special because it is celebrating the 170th anniversary of the Madrid-Aranjuez railroad line. From June 19 to October 31, live a unique experience!
The journey of just 50 kilometers, begins at the historic Delicias station, at the Railway Museum of Madrid, at 10:00 am, and ends at the same point at 19:30 pm.
The 37th train campaign will have two parts, spring and autumn. Spring, will have two trips that you can make on June 19 and 20, and Autumn, which will have fourteen trips and you will have the opportunity to climb aboard the historic train every weekend between September 18 and October 31.
There are several tourist routes that complete the trip: "Strawberries with Cream", which includes a ride on the "Chiquitrén" and a visit to the gardens of the Parterre and the Island, ideal for the little ones; "Royal Strawberries" which includes a visit to the Royal Palace, the Falúas Museum and the Prince's Garden; and "Strawberries of the Tagus", which offers a boat tour and a visit to the exterior of the Royal Palace and gardens.
In addition, for the first time you will have the opportunity to enjoy two elegant restaurant cars and the option to download an app on your cell phone with all the necessary information about the train, the trip, the routes and tourist and cultural activities in Aranjuez, among other interesting information.
An original way to visit the Royal Site and enjoy a day in Aranjuez, the city on the banks of the Tagus declared a Cultural Landscape by Unesco, for its rural and urban landscape, unique wooded forests and gardens, palatial buildings and architecture.
