International Jazz Day Madrid 2021

In 2011, the UNESCO General Conference proclaimed April 30 as the International Jazz Day and, since then, hundreds of countries around the world hold events in relation to this musical style, which in Madrid has been celebrated since 2018.

From April 29 to May 2 you are going to be able to enjoy the 4th edition of the International Jazz Day Madrid, a festival that coordinated by La Noche en Vivo, the Association of Concert Halls in Madrid, returns in 2021 with a varied program.

For four intense days, jazz returns to Madrid's concert halls with seventeen concerts in some of the most emblematic venues in the capital, filling the main venues in the center of the capital with dance and jazz music.

Concerts and live music, daily DJ sessions, exhibitions, dance classes and jam sessions can be enjoyed in the following venues: Hangar 48, Café La Palma, Moe Club, Café Berlín, Maravillas Club, Auditorio La Cabrera: Sala Vesta, Big Mama Ballroom and Tempo Audiophile Club.

You can listen to great musicians such as the master of the double bass, Josemi Garzón, enjoy jazz, soul or funky rhythms by the great trumpeter Antonio Ximénez, discover the jazz side of Juanito Makandé with Euscádiz, get excited with the trumpet of Raynald Colom, listen live to the Grammy-nominated trombonist Santiago Cañada or enjoy songs that drink from styles such as rock, flamenco or jazz thanks to bassist Fernando Lamadrid.

In addition to these renowned artists, this year the festival features new proposals such as Lady & The Tramps, who will transport you to the blues clubs of Chicago; Rosín de Palo, whose performances take classical music as a starting point; Pecesquelaguarechaza, who are committed to fusing music with poetry; Boreal Duo, who will combine a renewed jazz repertoire with their own compositions or Jazzaben, a trio of piano, bass and drums that performs Latin jazz pieces.

To give visibility to the importance of women in jazz, the icing on the cake will be Celia Mayo & Karla Silva performing great classics in a show called "Jazz with a woman's voice".

International Jazz Day is here! Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this fascinating music festival that will transport you to New Orleans.
