Pasea Madrid 2021 is a program that offers free thematic guided tours through 13 routes through the cultural and historical spaces of the capital and its corners. The tours will be available from March 1 to April 30. There will be more than 6,900 places and prior registration is essential, which will be open from February 23.
The 13 guided tours are a unique opportunity to visit the most special places in Madrid. They are tours that bring the public closer to the historical heritage of the city and, in addition, are adapted to all tastes.
In the itineraries "Goya and Florida" and "Sabatini in Madrid", you will visit some of the places that inspired the universal painter and the work of the great architect of the eighteenth century, respectively. Meanwhile, "From Tribunal to Conde Duque: the other Galdosian Madrid" will transport visitors to the 19th century Madrid of Benito Pérez Galdós to understand the inspiration behind his works.
Those interested in getting to know every corner of the city will enjoy visits to the beautiful parks of Quinta de Los Molinos and Torre Arias in "San Blas-Canillejas"; the neo-Mudejar church of Santa Cristina in "La Latina"; or the legacy of the great urban planner Arturo Soria in "Ciudad Lineal".
At the same time, attendees will be able to take historical tours (these are two different routes, there is no single itinerary) through the corners and origins of the old towns of "Fuencarral-El Pardo" and "Vicálvaro", touring and observing important historical enclaves of past centuries such as the 16th century church of Santa María with its magnificent baroque altarpiece or the old 18th century San Fernando Textile Factory.
The visits will also go to the heart of Madrid to visit Cultural Heritage Sites such as the unique "Beti Jai fronton" in Chamberí or the spectacular "Paseo del Prado", currently candidate, together with the Buen Retiro Garden, to be declared Cultural Landscape World Heritage by UNESCO.
The itineraries will also give prominence and will cover (they are different guided tours, not the same itinerary) "the Bunker of the Capricho Garden", an authentic subway barracks 15 meters deep, the famous "Retiro Park", and even allow you to climb to the top of the "Mirador del Monumento a Alfonso XIII".
In short, an endless number of routes to explore the streets of a city full of history and mystery. Let Madrid surprise and excite you, for sure it will not leave you indifferent.
