Road cycling in the Sierra Norte 

Today we bring you several options with which you can enjoy cycling routes in the Sierra Norte de Madrid, one of the most privileged areas of Madrid for cycling and ideal environment for cycling tourism, the perfect opportunity to combine sport with the wonderful views offered by the nature of this area of the Community!

Morcuera and Canencia Passes
A complete circular route that starts in Lozoya and joins the Morcuera and Canencia mountain passes, allowing us to ride through the eastern part of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. The impressive views of the valley of Lozoya from the top of the valley of the Angostura stand out.

 

Circular Puebla de la Sierra
A beautiful tourist route of very quiet roads throughout the week, with the Sierra de la Puebla as protagonist and passing through the limits of the Biosphere Reserve of the Sierra del Rincón. The tranquility that is breathed and the wonderful landscapes that you can discover make this route an ideal plan. The route starts in Prádena del Rincón.

 

The trap of Valgallegos and the environment of El Atazar
A spectacular cycling route for enthusiasts looking for demanding mountain circuits. The start of this route is located in Torrelaguna and offers, in addition, beautiful panoramic views of the surroundings of the Valgallegos meadow, the Atazar reservoir and the Vega del Jarama. You can also visit outstanding places such as the Church of Santa María Magdalena or the Convent of San Julián and San Antonio, among others.

A variety of routes for all types of cyclists that also include recommendations of places to eat and spend the night. An alternative to traditional tourism and one of the best ways to get to know the Sierra Norte of Madrid, visiting its villages and appreciating nature in first person.
