Weather in Madrid
If you still don't know the Hippodrome or you were waiting to come back, you can do it now! Next January 31 begins the winter season, which will last until February 21, inclusive.
The Hipódromo de la Zarzuela, declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1980, has more than 20,000 square meters of huge gardens and open spaces to enjoy a Sunday in the best company. A fascinating meeting point where you can not only enjoy the races, but also a spectacular gastronomic and outdoor leisure offer.
An informal atmosphere, where you can have a snack, an aperitif or eat outdoors, makes the Hippodrome an ideal place to spend a Sunday. From Foodtrucks with different culinary specialties: "moose" (hamburger handmade on the spot), "iberoteca" (hams, sausages...), "gastrobocadillos", etc.; to a "BBQ STATION TURF", a space reserved for barbecues where you can enjoy both classic sandwiches and seasonal dishes (kebabs, entrecote, etc.). Not forgetting the "Sala Cervecistas by Mahou", ideal for snacks and pinchos, both hot and cold, at the foot of the track.
If you prefer something more exclusive, the Hippodrome is also your place, because in front of the finish line is the HZ Premium Terrace, from where you can appreciate the skyline of Madrid.
In order not to miss any detail of this emblematic place, you can take a guided tour, to know both the facilities and the ins and outs of horse racing and the professionals of this sport. If you want more information about the visits you can go to the Hipotur website.
To get to the Hippodrome, you can do it with your private vehicle or through the free shuttle bus service that leaves from Moncloa in Paseo Moret.
