The Meninas by Velázquez are once again on the streets of Madrid thanks to the third edition of 'Meninas Madrid Gallery'. Until 15 December, do not miss one of the biggest urban art events, whose 2020 edition is presented as the most special of all.
Last 15th October, this initiative was launched as part of the 'Madrid Capital de Moda' (Madrid Capital of Fashion) project, promoted by the Madrid City Council and the Business Association of the Textile and Accessories Trade (ACOTEX).
'Meninas Madrid Gallery', was created thanks to the artist Antonio Azzato, in his search to continue with the transmission of the 'infinite message' that was started the own Velázquez with his masterpiece 'Las Meninas'; a singular homage to one of our most universal painters, which can be seen until 15th December.
Thus, different parts of the capital will be the setting for nearly 40 sculptures, which have been designed by the own Antonio Azzato and reinterpreted by a cast of creators including Antonia Dell'Atte, Marta Sánchez, Asier Etxeandía, Maximiliano Calvo, the designers Oteyza and Modesto Lomba, the illustrator Mi Fan Soytatinio or Xoan Viqueira, and even the famous clown Fofito, among others.
As in previous editions, different brands and companies have collaborated in this solidarity initiative, which this year vindicates the freedom and the need to return to our normality, and whose benefits will be destined to the Banco de Alimentos.
The work of Velázquez acquires a new dimension, and from here we encourage you to enjoy over the coming weeks and even immortalize your visit and upload your photo to social networks with the hastag #MeninasMadridGallery.
Don't miss this special edition, dedicated to all the victims of the pandemic and their families.
