From the Region of Madrid, we encourage you to make a final effort to emerge victorious from this health crisis. For this reason, for another week we are surprising you with different virtual plans, which will make your leisure time more bearable. This week we propose an exciting journey through the universe, visiting different exhibitions without leaving home, discovering educational mobile applications or shopping online. Where do you want to start?
Plans with children
Planetario Madrid invites us to discover online thanks to Sky-scan the programme 'To space & Back', a programme aimed at secondary and high school students or simply lovers of astronomy, in both cases with a good level of English, with which they will make an amazing journey through the known universe and our planet, to understand how space discoveries facilitate the use of devices and applications that we have at our disposal in our daily lives.
If you haven't had the chance to visit the Museum of Romanticism, now you can do it without moving from your sofa thanks to its proposal 'Un paseo por el Museo' (A walk through the Museum). It is a virtual route, in which through different videos, you will have access to the rich exhibition of the museum, as well as to the history and the daily life of the Spain of the Romanticism. It's a unique opportunity to get to know this very special gallery.
Now we are going to go to Metro de Madrid where its virtual proposal will allow us to learn about the history of the underground. On the one hand, there is the 'Exposición de Trenes Históricos' (Historical Trains Exhibition) in which, through 12 cars, we will discover the company's main milestones in terms of transport, from its beginnings to the 1960s; on the other hand, '100 años de Metro de Madrid' (100 years of Metro de Madrid) will take you to the Engine Room to review the evolution and change of this famous means of transport; for its part, the 'Andén 0' (Platform 0) project will take you on a tour of the Engine Room, the place where the energy needed by the trains was generated and transformed; and finally, 'Retratos Suburbanos' (Suburban Portraits) will provide you with testimonies and portraits of different personalities.
Leisure for everyone
Taking advantage of the daily use of mobile devices, the Mapfre Foundation has created different educational applications for all audiences. In this link you will find all of them classified in three subjects: health, road safety and insurance. So, children will have a great time while learning, and the older ones will find a wide range of history books, as well as the Insurance Museum's catalogue.
Shopping & Gastronomy
Last but not least, shopping addicts will be able to do their shopping thanks to 'Correos Market', a very special initiative that seeks to maintain our traditional essence, which has been developed by the Spanish Postal and Telegraph Society, and which offers local products, including food, drinks, fashion and textiles, crafts and beauty. No minimum order, no shipping costs, and with a seal of quality. What are you waiting for?
