Turismo Madrid

Día Mundial del Turismo 2020

On the occasion of the celebration of World Tourism Day, the Region of Madrid has presented a video inviting people to explore the region, showing its tourist diversity. A celebration that comes at a critical time, but which sends a positive message for the coming months, encouraging this sector with new proposals. The Region of Madrid is waiting for you!

Every 27 September, World Tourism Day is celebrated. Despite the fact that this year, given the very special situation in which we find ourselves, it has not been possible to celebrate it as it deserves, the Region of Madrid wanted to send out a positive message, showing through a video, all that still remains to be done, to visit, to get to know, to discover...

Although one of the sectors most affected by the COVID-19 crisis is tourism, under the slogan chosen by the World Tourism Organization 'Tourism and Rural Development', special attention is being paid to its recovery, especially in rural communities, where the sector is a very important generator of employment and driver of the economy.

It is precisely along these lines that the Region of Madrid has been working on over the last few months, as shown by its tourism reactivation plan 'Juntos 2020', which since July has been inviting anyone who wishes to rediscover the region.

In the coming months, the Region of Madrid is preparing new proposals to extend its tourist offer, through different tourist routes, literary tours, and much more.

Because... you will come back to Madrid!
