Experience the best Spanish Golden Age with the new edition of the only classical theatre festival in Madrid, the 'Fiesta Corral Cervantes', which will take place in the Madrid Río Park until 20th September. An authentic festival of theatre and leisure, which has already become a classic of the capital's summers. What are you waiting for to experience it?
With the aim of promoting the performing arts, the fourth edition of the 'Fiesta Corral Cervantes' began on 29 July. This year it will be held in a new location in the Madrid Río Park, whose space has been adapted to the health and safety regulations determined by the authorities.
The stage of the Corral Cervantes Theatre is a replica of the Corral de Comedias in Almagro, and different theatrical productions for all audiences will take place there, as well as different types of poetry and music, always with the Spanish Golden Age as the main protagonist.
The opening will take place next Wednesday with two great authors: Tirso de Molina and Calderón de la Barca. Over the next few days, the event will feature performances by national companies exclusively.
Thus, to date, a total of 118 performances have been scheduled, with 23 different productions that will be performed by 19 companies from 9 autonomous communities: Madrid (7), Extremadura (1), Castilla-La Mancha (2), Catalonia (1), Valencia (2), Andalusia (3), Basque Country (1), Castile and León (1), and Galicia (1).
Structured in 5 sections, the shows will be performed from Monday to Saturday, with double programming in the afternoon and evening; Saturday and Sunday afternoons with family shows; Sunday afternoon/evening the ArganzuelOROs contest; Friday and Saturday night, the music will be the main protagonist in a space that will also host the poetry.
But there is even more, since during the development of the different spectacles, the spectators will be able to delight their palate and refresh themselves in a porticoed area fitted out to house two gastronomic areas, in addition to craft stalls.
Tickets are already on sale at the Corral de Cervantes website, as well as at the Atrápalo and El Corte Inglés websites. Don't miss out your ticket!
