We propose you to get to know the region through the program 'Madrid en Verde', which includes 50 guided routes through the protected natural areas of the Region of Madrid. Below you will find all the details, but don't forget to continue complying with the safety standards indicated by the health authorities in order to guarantee the safety of all. Three, two, one... let's start!
Under the slogan 'Sé responsable, sé natural' (Be responsible, be natural), you can now walk through the spectacular green spaces of the Region of Madrid, practicing hiking, a healthy and fun activity, which you can do with someone you want. However, in order to guarantee that all the safety requirements are followed, it will be necessary to register in advance through the web pages of the Environmental Education Centres (CEA), as well as the natural areas from which the different itineraries can be found at www.sendasdemadrid.es.
All the routes will start from the eight CEAs that form part of the network, the regional parks of the Southeast and the Middle Course of the Guadarrama River and its surroundings, the periurban parks Polvoranca and Bosque Sur and Arco Verde, as well as from the Sierra del Rincón Biosphere Reserve and the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. Guided trails have also been designed from the Sierra Oeste starting from the Special Conservation Areas (SCA) of the Alberche and Cofio Rivers basins and the Valle del Lozoya.
As we advanced you, these are guided paths, and with the objective of guaranteeing the established interpersonal distance, circular, in order to avoid coinciding with other participants at some point along the way.
Although the routes are perfectly signposted and have signs, it is recommended that you download the brochures or maps with basic information and self-guided routes, since as a result of the pandemic suffered during recent months, no paper guides are provided.
