From Turismo Madrid, we want to give you ideas to enjoy your leisure time, while you explore and know the region in depth. So, and taking advantage of the fact that last week the Garden of the Palace Infante Don Luis opened its doors after this break we have experienced, we are going to the town of Boadilla del Monte. Do you want to go?
Very close to the capital, only separated by the space of the Casa de Campo, is located the town of Boadilla del Monte. This is where we go today to get to know the beauty of this municipality and its surroundings, that host interesting heritage samples as well as open spaces where you can enjoy different activities.
Close to the different monuments that are worth discovering like the Carmelite Convent of La Encarnación, the Church of San Cristóbal, the Hermitage of San Sebastián, or the Fountain of Ventura Rodríguez, we highlight the Palace of Infante Don Luis, whose beauty, as we know it today, is due to the architect Ventura Rodríguez, who was commissioned by the Infante D. Luis de Borbón to transform an earlier building, known as 'Dos Torres' Palace. The building, together with its gardens and the Ventura Rodríguez fountain, was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1974.
It is in the wonderful Renaissance gardens surrounding the palace that we are looking this week. Discover this impressive green area, which was restored in 2015 after an exhaustive restoration by the Italian landscaper Lucia Serredi.
You can visit them every day from 11am to 2pm and from 6pm to 10pm, except on Wednesdays, which will be closed for maintenance tasks, although it is true that on Wednesdays from 6pm they will open their doors, since in the spectacular garden, there is a unique restaurant known as 'La Terraza del Palacio', which will allow you to enjoy during the warm summer nights of wonderful evenings in an ideal environment.
What more could you ask for?
