With the aim of giving visibility to those municipalities that are committed to rural tourism, as well as sharing experiences and concerns, the website EscapadaRural.com, invites us to participate in a new edition to choose the Capital of Rural Tourism 2020, in which the town of Rascafría has been selected as a finalist. Please, do not stop voting!
Any excuse is good, to enjoy a getaway in one of the villages that are located in our region, and more when little by little, we are emerging from an atypical situation, which has made us stay at home for more than two months.
The town of Rascafría is the ideal destination to visit at any time of year, to explore its many beautiful corners, and to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of life in the large population centres.
Located in the Guadarrama National Park, in the middle of nature, this typical mountain village has a spectacular heritage, which together with the beauty of its landscapes, has led it to be part of the tourist program 'Madrid Villas'.
Without a doubt, one of its attractions is the Royal Monastery of Santa María de El Paular which, built in 1390 and declared an Asset of Cultural Interest since 1876, will make you fall in love with this destination.
As we advanced you, the website EscapadaRural.com, organizes the IV edition of 'Capital of Rural Tourism', in which participate, with Rascafría, other nine municipalities that meet the requirements of having less than 10,000 inhabitants and have different tourist attractions.
Until June 28th you can vote for your favourite, and just for participating you will be eligible for the prize of a trip for 2 to the town you vote for. The winning village will be announced on July 3rd.
We encourage you to help us take Rascafría to the top, making it the 'Capital of Rural Tourism'.
See you in the Region of Madrid!
