With the aim of promoting sustainable tourism, the Region of Madrid connects you to the well-known 'Green Ways'. These are magical, accessible and affordable routes that run along the old railway routes and respect nature. Stay with us to discover it!
The Region of Madrid consolidates its collaboration with the Spanish Railway Foundation with the joint promotion of CiclaMadrid and Vías Verdes (Green Ways) products.
CiclaMadrid is a product of the Region of Madrid that offers a different way of getting to know the region. To the Gran Tour, which covers the region in 17 stages, and the circuits through Las Vegas del Tajo, the Sierra de Guadarrama and the Sierras Norte and Oeste, joins three Vías Verdes.
Precisely one of them runs along the Via del Tajuña, which runs between Arganda del Rey and Ambite, passing through Morata de Tajuña, Perales de Tajuña, Tielmes, Carabaña and Orusco and the 40-day Train, an itinerary along "the sweet path of the beet trains", which runs between Carabaña and Orusco.

The other new route is the Guadarrama River Green Ways, which crosses riverbanks and farmland environments.
The Green Ways programme has developed a work of recovery and maintenance of old railway lines in disuse, recovering them to be transited on foot and by bicycle, as well as rehabilitating railway buildings to convert them into ecotourism facilities. The Green Ways take advantage of the benefits of its layout, which is very comfortable and easy, to become very suitable routes for children, the elderly and people with disabilities. To travel them is to go deep into nature and discover surprising spaces, villages and environments.
Discover here everything that you will soon be able to enjoy with Ciclamadrid and Vías Verdes.
