Descubre la programación del Museo del Ferrocarril

The Railway Museum is another cultural centre that is opening its doors virtually during these weeks, so that you can delve into its history by exploring the museum online, see interesting exhibitions without leaving your home, read books and documents, and even children can participate in virtual exhibitions. Are you going to miss it?

In the old station of Delicias, is located the Museo del Ferrocarril (Railway Museum) that opened its doors in 1984 to show the evolution of this mode of transport through a selection of vehicles and pieces related to the railway. If you haven't had the chance to visit it yet, you can do it at your own pace through this link

But as we advanced you, during these days, and in order to facilitate access to its contents, the Museum offers us the possibility of viewing its exhibitions online. This is the case of the exhibition "Madrid-Delicias. 140 años de una estación", which commemorates the 140th anniversary of the official opening of Madrid's Delicias station. Using documents from the Historical Railway Archive and the Railway Library, we will learn about the most interesting aspects of the passenger building.

Along with this exhibition, you will have the opportunity to learn about its history of exhibitions including "TER: 30 años de servicios ferroviarios", "Renfe, 75 años, palabras, documentos", "25 años de alta velocidad", and "TALGO, anticipando el futuro".

From the own website of the museum you will also have access to different books and publications corresponding to the Historical Railway Archive. The originals can be found in the Archive and Library consultation room, but you will still have to wait a few weeks if you want to see them 'in situ'.

Meanwhile, the little ones of the house will be able to take part in the unique exhibition #DibujaTuTrenEnCasa, made up of drawings illustrating their particular vision of the train. All those interested in participating, aged between 4 and 12, will only have to send a photo of their drawing to  This email address is being protected from spambots.
