Although the year is about to end, running lovers still have time to participate in different sporting events, with a Christmas touch. We started on the 8th with the well-known 'Carrera de Papá Noel', followed on the 28th of December with 'San Silvestriña Solidaria by Runners Magos', and to culminate on the 31st, the long-awaited 'San Silvestre Vallecana'. We start on the 8th with the 'Carrera de Papá Noel', which gives the go ahead, sportily speaking, at this very endearing time. For the eighth consecutive year, runners of all ages will be able to take part in this unique event that brings together the largest number of Santa Claus in the world, since all the participants will be given with the number, a complete costume of this well-known Christmas character. The start of the race will take place at 9am in the Paseo de la Castellana, and afterwards, it will go through several streets of the capital. Get your number before they're over, and do not miss this solidarity race, which supports the research project of Dr. Lopez Ibor, in her search for the best treatment for children with cancer.
On the other hand, on 28 December it will be the turn of the 'V San Silvestriña Solidaria by Runners Magos', a solidary sporting event, the result of the effort of three young runners from Madrid, whose objective is none other than to help in the campaign 'No child without toys'. Children between the ages of 3 and 15 who wish to participate, may deliver a new toy or in good condition, thus contributing their bit to this cause, co-organized by the district Villa de Vallecas, and this time will have as a sports partner to the basketball club Montakit Fuenlabrada. Become a page and help the "Runners Magos" to distribute toys to the most needy, the appointment will be at 11am in the municipal sports centre Miguel Guillén Prim. We are waiting for you!
As it could not be otherwise, we can say goodbye to the year in a high and healthy way, since the last day, December 31, before the traditional grapes, will take place one more year the 'Nationale Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana 2019'. An appointment, which has its origin in 1964, and which currently consists of two tests, on the one hand the 'Popular', which takes place at 5:30pm, and on the other hand the 'International', which involves professionals and will be at 8pm. Do not miss the opportunity to live a unique experience, walking through the main streets of the capital, which adorned with lights for the festivities, provide a very special brightness. The departure will take place in the Avenida de Concha Espina, to end as always inside the football stadium of Vallecas, venue of the club Rayo Vallecano.
