From 3 to 29 December, Madrid will once again become the international capital of dance thanks to a new edition of 'Madrid en Danza' which, with an impressive line-up that will include 16 shows from 11 different countries, is committed to excellence, innovation and diverse dance genres.
For four weeks, and under the watchful eye of Aída Gómez, the festival's artistic director, the 34th edition of 'Madrid en Danza' will take place, surprising us with three absolute premieres, six premieres in Spain and four premieres in Madrid.
Diverse formations and renowned artists are included in the programming that will be carried out in five spaces of the region: the Teatros del Canal, the Sala Cuarta Pared, the Royal Coliseum of Carlos III of San Lorenzo del Escorial, the Cultural Centre Paco Rabal - Palomeras Bajas and the Regional Centre of Humanities Cardenal Gonzaga Sierra Norte de La Cabrera.
In the national section, we will count with the creators and companies with more projection as Gustavo Ramírez and the company Titoyaya Dansa, Cristian Lozano, Patricia Guerrero, Dani Pannullo DanceTheatre Co, Sara Cano, Manuel Reyes, Sara Calero, Iratxe Ansa and Metamorphosis Dance Company and La Venidera.
On the other hand, names such as Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Wayne McGregor Company, Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Batsheva - The Young Ensemble, Ballet Preljocaj or imPerfect Dancers Company, will add the international touch.
Finally, closing the festival, on 28th and 29th December the 'Gala Europa 2019: new dancers, new choreographers' will take place in the Teatros del Canal. A show that seeks to position the figure of the performer-choreographer, representing the works of consecrated young choreographers alongside the proposals of the dancers, who perform them accompanied by classical scores ranging from J.S. Bach to the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
