Poetics of a house.
Location: Sorollas Museum
"Poéticas de una casa. Photographs by Lluís Casals" presents the Sorolla Museum as never seen before. From March 2 to June 20 you can enjoy a journey through the history of this emblematic institution through the images of the Catalan photographer.
The exhibition delves into the most intimate universe of Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida to show the soul of the house. His memories, objects, corners and painting rooms transport to a poetic-visual journey where calm and beauty are the main protagonists.
The Sorolla House has become a symbol of the capital. This Historic-Artistic Monument, built in 1911, served as home and workshop for the painter Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida. More than 2,200 works recall an artist who was a reference in Spanish impressionism and luminism.
The Museum never wants to stop surprising. For this reason, Itineraries on Sorolla offers temporary exhibitions to present the research carried out on the painter's life, work and cultural environment.
The recent itinerary gathers the best works of the author for the public to enjoy the art of the time, among them are "The color of the sea", "Clotilde de Sorolla" or "The art of light".
