Visit the Gabinete Artístico la Cabrera Museum
Location: Gabinete Artístico la Cabrera Museum
Located in the Sierra Norte of Madrid, the Gabinete Artístico la Cabrera Museum has a wonderful collection of Flemish, German and Italian paintings from the 16th to 18th centuries donated by the diplomat Carlos Manzanares y Herrero.
This small enclosure, located in the Centro Comarcal de Humanidades Cardenal Gonzaga, takes visitors back to the beginnings of museums in the 19th century, where decoration, furniture and souvenirs converged with the paintings and sculptures on display.
Along with the Manzanares Collection, the museum also has the Solana Collection, named after its contributor: Mario Solana. In it, you can see works from the second half of the 20th century by renowned painters such as Joan Ponç, Díaz Caneja, Beulas, Echauri, Grau Santos, Farreras or Hernández Mompó. Among all of them, Alexander Calder's gouache "Arabesque black on green" (1962) undoubtedly stands out.
The schedule to visit, free of charge, this small museum is from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 9:30 pm and Sundays from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
