SHOPPING MALLS

The shopping malls are a great opportunity to enjoy a shopping day, with the best product offering with a great quality without walking too much. There are more than 130 shopping malls in the Region, considering also the open shopping malls that are proliferating in the urban areas of the main cities.

Open-air shopping areas

Centre of Madrid. The reference shopping area of the capital is located between La Puerta del Sol, la Gran Vía, Preciados y la Princesa Street.

These streets are one of the areas of Madrid that never sleeps due to the continuous passage of people. In this are we can find all kinds of business, like the main franchises of clothes, electronics, etc. where we can buy at affordable prices. If you walk into Plaza de España and Princesa Street you will find shopping malls where we can find the latest trends.

All of this things makes the central are the main open Shopping Mall of Spain. If you come to Madrid, visit it. Its shops are free from schedules, since this area has been declared of Great Touristic Influx and they are usually open all year round.

In the same area we cannot miss El Corte Inglés. It was originally a clothes shop founded in 1890, and it has become a huge chain that is a reference in Spain regarding different sectors like fashion, electronics, culture, food and travelling. It is located in strategic locations like Preciados Street, Paseo de la Castella or Goya Street. Nowadays, El Corte Inglés has more than 40 shops all around the Region of Madrid, and more than 25 in the capital.

The area of Príncipe de Vergara in the Chamartín district is an area where quality and exclusivity predominate. Streets like Príncipe de Vergara, Colombia Street, Costa Rica or Alberto Alcocer will offer you a great variety of shops.

Among the whole ensemble, the Chamartín Market stands out. It has always been at the forefront regarding services and customer service.

The commercial area of Bravo Murillo, between Cuatro Caminos and Plaza de Castilla including surrounding streets, has evolved enormously and now offers many clothes shops, technology and beauty shops, with a multicultural environment.

The Mercado de Maravillas is located right in the heart of the commercial area. It is a modern space with around 200 stalls where you will be able to find all kinds of products and services right in the centre of Madrid.

Another shopping area is located in the district of Ciudad Lineal. It consists of Alcalá and Aruro Soria Streets. In this area all kinds of shops you can imagine are mixed (clothes, electronics, interesting shops, etc.) with shopping malls like the Centro Comercial Arturo Soria Plaza y el Centro Comercial Alcalá Norte.

Alcobendas also offers us two open shopping malls located in the central area and in the Avenida de la Constitución area. This is a great opportunity to enjoy shopping while being outdoors. The shopping mall has excellent connections by metro, train, buses or car.

In Majadahonda there is a large grouped area around an Open Shopping Mall in the Gran Vía area, whe4re you will find plenty of shops in an area full of squares and parks that will make you shopping day more relaxed.

Pozuelo Abierto brings together more than 1.000 businesses all around the town. Find the most interesting and go shopping.

Shopping centres in the city

The Shopping Mall Príncipe Pío is located in the former Estación Norte (North Station). The facilities of the former train station have been rehabilitated in order to create a modern shopping mall, where you have dozens of shops with the main trademarks, together with leisure facilities like cinemas. A large awning and a 3 meters diameter clock preserve the environment of the former station.

In Salamanca neighborhood, very close to the "Golden Mile", there is ABC of Serrano. It is a building with history, which hosted until 1989 the ABC diary office. The shopping mall has a great number of fashion shops and complements, and a restaurant with a terrace which is a reference in Madrid.

La Vaguada is the oldest shopping mall of Madrid. It was founded in 1983 and has 250 stores. Castellana 200, as it name implies, is located in the number 200 of Castellana Street and it is the most modern of the capital. Moda Shopping, is located in the business area and has many fashion and complement stores few meters away from Paseo de la Castellana. All of them are perfectly connected by public transport.

Shopping centres in the Region

In the Metropolitan Area of Madrid there are many spacious shopping malls with plenty of shops, where you can enjoy a shopping day with a great offering of shops, restaurants and leisure in the same place.

The Shopping Mall Plaza Norte 2 is located in San Sebastián de los Reyes. It has a great dome 35 meters high and a decoration with lapis lazuli columns and marble. It brings you back to a classical age, but with the most modern and well known brands.

In Alcobendas you will enjoy the luxury of the Shopping Mall Moraleja Green, located in unique surroundings with great style and design. Few kilometers away there is also de Leisure Centre Diversia La Moraleja, oriented mainly to the entertainment with a Hollywood decoration.

Gran Plaza 2, in Majadahonda, when it was inaugurated it became in the biggest and most spectacular shopping mall in Spain. This new shopping mall has more than 190 brands and brings to the northwest area of Madrid the biggest commercial offering at the moment.

In Alcorcón we have two big shoppong malls Parque Oeste y Tres Aguas. Both of them offer national and international products, restaurants and leisure, which make them a reference in the west area of the city.

In the south part of the Region, in Leganés, we find Parque Sur. It is a place full of fashion shops that suit every taste few kilometers away from the capital. And recently opened 'Sambil Outlet Madrid', the largest commercial mall of this kind in Spain.

In Arroyomolinos we find Madrid Xanadú, where shopping and amusement are combined for everybody, since it has the first indoors snow track on Spain. If we add the longest indoor zip-line in the world, many cinemas, a mini-golf, a bowling alley and the children's club "Xanadú Nickelodeon Slime Zone", we have entertainment for the whole family. Plan a shopping day for everybody!

If you love the big discounts, don't miss Las Rozas Village, few kilometers away of the centre of the capital. This outlet is like a small town where you can get into the shops of your favorite brands. Moreover, you have a bus line from Plaza de España, so it is easier for you to reach there in an easy and quickly way.
