Naturaleza y turismo activo

NATURE AND ACTIVE TOURISM

The active tourism, of nature and rural accommodations, is a suitable choice to travel with children and family. Come to some of the existing environmental educational centres and enjoy the activities that are proposed, most of them focused on the environmental education and the enjoyment of the nature environment; guided tours, workshops, courses, etc.

In Alcalá de Henares, you also have Naturalcalá, with activities for the whole family both during the day and at nighttime.

In the National Park of Sierra de Guadarrama, the whole family can follow – by foot or by bike - one of the numerous paths, like the Senda de las Formas in the Pedriza among others, which is well signposted and has a shorter alternative of 1.5 kilometers and low difficulty, where you will be able to find a series of geological structures like The Seal, The Turtle, The Towers, The Little Pig and The Bird.

Did you know that the Schmidt Path is part of the Camino de Santiago? This one and many other stretches conform the Camino of Madrid. Get ready and begin the Compostela in Madrid.

Very close, in Hoyo de Manzanares you will find the Aula Apícola Sierra de Hoyo, where you will get to know the wonderful and unknown world of the bees.

The Green Paths (Vías Verdes), which are suitable to go by foot or by bicycle, run along the old railways. In our region the "Vía Verde del Tajuña" and the "Tren de los 40 días" should be highlighted and it is recommended to bring your children. Learn more: Vía Verde del Tajuña.

Finally, it is important to mention the Parques y Jardines Históricos de la Comunidad de Madrid, where you can combine nature and the outdoors with history and cultural heritage visiting places like El Retiro, El Escorial or Aranjuez.
