The Prado Museum has decided to re-elaborate the catalogue of Goya's drawings, which will culminate in the exhibition "Solo la voluntad me sobra. Drawings by Goya", which you will be able to enjoy from 19 November 2019 until 16 February 2020.
The current catalogue of Goya's drawings dates back to 1973 when the Gassier catalogue was published. The Prado Museum has launched a project to create a new catalogue raisonné that not only provides a newer vision of the brilliant artist, but also incorporates new drawings discovered since 1973.
The results of the new catalogue will be presented in an exhibition that will chronologically review Goya's work through more than 100 drawings, from the "Italian Sketchbook" to the Bordeaux albums. All this, addressed from a modern point of view on the recurring themes of his work.
The works in the exhibition, commissioned by José María Matilla and Manuela Mena, will mostly come from the Prado Museum collection and will be complemented by public and private collections from all over the world, so it will be a unique opportunity you should not miss.
Book a place in the agenda between 19 November 2019 and 16 February 2020 and come to the Prado Museum.
